"Guardian Gateway I" | Original Drawing
“Guardian Gateway I” is a 24x36 larger scale original black ink drawing on white canvas, the first in what I hope will eventually be a series of tree gateway images to come. This drawing features the swaying tangled branches of two cottonwood trees whose trunks form a sort of gateway or portal to another realm in the center of the image. A cheeky cottonwood in the distance beckons the viewer in, promising more adventures beyond the gate.
When I draw tangled tree branches reaching towards the sky like this, I often think of the varied pathways we can take in life. Each path comes with a myriad of decisions signifying forks in the road along our way. Pathways intertwine, cross over, or branch off, leading us in many different directions. I don’t believe there is ever only one path we can follow. The choice is ours - which branch to take!
“Guardian Gateway I” arrives unframed and ready to serve as a portal in your home as is or displayed in the frame of your choosing.
